Rago Bluegill rigging

Post by milehi »

My two older rago gills have a harness for a belly hook, newer ones do not, anyone put a harness on a new one?

I prefer using Butch Brown style treble hook on the top of the head with bluegill soft swimbaits.
Reason is the flat shape tends to roll flat inside the basses mouth and the top treble hook gets high percent hook sets.

Thanks Tom, but the wire/braid would have to run to one side or the other because of the fin behind the hook, that ok? Afraid running it through the body the bait would get torn up

A photo is worth a thousand words. I don't like to post photos, PM your email and I will send you how I rig top hook bluegill. The treble hook is on a short wire in front of the dorsal fin. The line through body hook type wouldn't work.
