At the rate we are losing fish, you best get out there and get a few. They should be moving shallow this week and the smaller fish should be showing themselves.

Seal clubbing looks to be our next sport.

My daughter Abby had a 4 at 4 and a 5 at 5, no 6 for her but we tried that year, the trying was fun.

Now I have my grandson coming into the fold in a few years He's not yet one. Pic from prego Abby from last spring.

If the temps rise it'll improve the reaction bite. The fish are around, just tight lipped. The bite window is small and presentation is everything. If it's not really close you aren't getting bit. The spawn will proceed regardless. Clarity doesn't effect the fish, just the fisherman. That said I bo...

Miss going over to Cooch's and tying my own or having Jenni do it.

Don't forget about Johnny C's, California Reservoir Jigs. They work fine on the Delta also.

Haven't used the Canopy Grenades jig yet but that Dart they have is pretty good.

Had mine about a year after 17 years using the Fortrex styles. For lakes they are perfect, for the delta they are good. Only issue IMO is in shallow water. It's too noisy going left and right without going forward very far. I use my power poles now when fishing the quiet skinny water. The fortrex wa...

What type of rod do you use?

I use 16 lb fluro year round, 20 or 25 lb during the spring for casting reels on senko rods.

My GF Jill uses 8 lb Yozuri Hybrid line on her spinning tackle with a splitshot 5" senko and she does pretty well.

Been using them for 20+ years S-20 is favorite in 6" spade. Texas rig, dropshot or weightless for stained water. If you fish clear water lakes, a dart head works good with the S-111 small mouth killer color.
