My Plumas County tax assesor sent me a bill stating that the value of my 2007 Stratos was $38,000 so my 1% tax was $308.... I called and asked them how my boat had gained in value since I purchased it new for $37,500.... I was told that's what the blue book says so that is the value.... Long story s...

Well the fish have been shallow, I caught two nice largemouth in the "dredger pond" area up by the Chester airport on 5" senkos the other day ( picture posted in pic section). The fish seem to be mostly post spawn, there were still some smallies on beds up at the Chester end of the la...

It wasn't that long ago that I was getting my butt kicked by Justin and his Grandpa at the Folsom Bass League tournaments.... Here are some of the 10 smallmouth we caught at Almanor Monday....The one in my left hand was just under 4 lbs and we had one just over. Lake Almanor is on fire right now.... Smallies are averaging about 3lbs with fish in the 4-1/2 to 5lb range possible.... bite has been jigs and tubes in the offshore rock piles....

Wow....today is a good day.....I took my boat into C&C Marine in Citrus Heights yesterday and today I get a call from Mike VanWagner letting me know that Mercury Marine was going to step up and take care of my lower unit! Amazing! I am so happy that I chose C&C Marine and a Mercury outboard!...

Well as a plumber, I can tell you for a fact that expanding ice has more than enough force to crack the housing because I have seen it split 1/4" thick forged steel pipes....cast aluminum ain't that tough....Guess I'm hauling it to C&C tomorrow and we'll know for sure....

If I'm fishing senkos in open water, I use 10lb Segaur Invizx, if I'm fishing them in the weeds and tules I use Power Pro 50lb braid tied directly to the hook. I have a house in Puerto Vallarta and have been fishing at Cajon de Pena several times, although not in the last 5 years. The last time I talked to a local fishing buddy about it, he said it was really hit or miss and over fished by local gill netters. The closest lake really worthy of your vacation...

RJ Bennett kicked our tails with a 22+lb limit of Spots anchored by a 6+lbr! I got 2nd with 15.41 all LM didn't catch the guys name in 3rd with 15.31 Ryan White in 4th with 13.81 I think 5th was 13.73 It was actually a pretty tuff bite for me today, had 8 bites all day and ended up with 5- 3lb clone...

I had a 7.3 prior to my 6.0 and it rotted from the inside out due to metelurgy problems....Found out the hard way that you have to flush out the antifreeze on a regular basis, it literaly ate holes through the aluminum water passages that cooled the turbo.... and every other piece of aluminum attach...

I've been out there a couple of times, both in the summer, launching at the upper end. The 5mph restriction makes it tough, the water is usually gin clear and really cold as it comes from the bottom of Folsom lake. If you think Folsom is tough, try Natoma..... Don't get me wrong, there are some nice...

Cold Water Smallmouth question

Went out to Almanor this afternoon and found fish in the 32 to 35' range at multiple locations but was not able to get em to bite. Dropshot, tube, jig, nail rig no takers. The water was 39.6 to 39.9.... Am I just wasting my time with the water so cold or what?
