Re: Finding big spots at Bullards Bar
Disclaimer I have never even seen bullards bar. Just had to let that be known. I have done quite a bit of spotted bass fishing in deep clear northern ca waters. In my experiences finding big spots is much harder than catching them. I rarely, if ever, catch a big spot after fishing an area for more t...

Anyone know where I can find results for this tournament?
Re: Shasta
Simple answer would be, Spinning rod, 6 or 8# floro. and wacky rigged Senko. Can get expensive real fast, but will catch plenty of fish. O-ring tool will help save some baits, but be prepared to go through a pile of baits.

NOAA is by far the best. Thet still miss every now and then. best thing to do is check 3 or 4 weather sites you will get 3 or 4 different predictions. Between the different reports you should be able to get a pretty good idea of what the actual weather will be like.

I've have another simaler question? Chapter 2 Article 1. Section 2.10 # 3 It is unlawful to use any multiple hook or more than one single hook on non-buoyant lures exceeding one ounce. Does that mean a hudd with a treble hook is not legal? What about a 1.5 oz. spoon?

Re: slow or fast
I'm no striper fisherman but seems to me if you can find the fish. A white 5" big hammer on a 1/2 oz. head would do the trick.
should probably look into something like a lunker punker aswell.
Both baits are proven striper killers. Just remember there is no magic bait.

Havent been there for a while. But big topwaters EARLY like befor day light. and last 20 mins befor dark. After the sun starts to shine on the water. target shade pockets. Better fish will dominate the prime shadows. Good Luck

What conditions do you belive it take to get a good topwater bite going? I have caught top water fish all seasons and all times of day, wind and no wind, clear and cool water, warm and muddy water. Your gonna get conflicting advice on this one. Your gonna have to take it all in and decide what works best for you. First off you will find it hard to cast with only 2" of line out. Rod, lure, and line are just as important in the learning curve as the reel. 6'6"-7' med-med heavy rod is g...

Size does not reflect the age or sexual maturity of a fish. In lakes with good food supply and long growing season a 2 pounder might only be two years old. Another lake might have poor food supply and shorter growing season a 2 pounder could be 5 years old. In most lakes I think a fish in the 2 poun...
