Agreed, but I would use carriage bolts, countersunk on top then use a nylock nut underneath. I nearly punctured a pontoon using lag bolt when a bunk got rotten. Caught it just in time. I think if any governing body is going to act on restricting the wakeboard boats it would be due to erosion of the banks and damage to docks etc. I would not be surprised if this happened at the Delta first due to the levees
