Re: Idiosyncrasies of Ghost Trolling Motor

Your Ghost should deploy and retract very smoothly. The key is in proper mounting. It should be mounted with 6 bolts and on a perfectly flat and level surface. Some boats do not have a level surface, and in that case when you tighten all bolts the mount bends to conform to the fiberglass surface. Th...

Re: Ghost Trolling Motor Guys: a couple of questions

Your HDS Live has autopilot capabilities which you have to enable in your advanced features. The Ghost motor will use autopilot to guide your boat on programmed routes, to a waypoint, and more; and lets you choose what happens once you arrive. I use autopilot all the time with my Ghost. Just yesterd...

That will work, but realize that you will not be able to turn off the Active Target to save battery power without also having to turn off your HDS unit. If you wire the yellow wire to an accessory switch, you can independently power on or off the Active Target irrespective of your HDS units.

Active Target has nothing to do with the trolling motor; and it is not hooked to that circuit so it wouldn't run down your trolling motor batteries. Active Target is connected to your starting battery. Yes, you do want to use an accessory switch for the yellow wire so you can turn it off when not us...

Re: How to transfer waypoints to SD Card, but keep on unit

When you save your waypoints to a SD card, you do not lose them from the HDS unit. You are merely copying them to the card.

Make sure you use a 32 gb or less card. I also recommend saving them on your home computer or laptop for the future in case you ever sell or break your HDS unit.

You should consider mounting the LSS on the back of your boat (jackplate mount preferred if you have one, otherwise on the transom in such a place where you get unobstructed sidescan views), and use it with your HDS-7. It provides DownScan also. Replace you HDI transducer with a standard 2D transduc...

Re: Ca delta bubba shot?

Best weight for Bubba Shotting is a QuickDrop, and besides all the small sizes they come in 1/2 oz, 3/4 oz, and even 1 oz. The teardrop shape punches a hole in the mats so the worm follows without fowling, and the shape allows the weights to come back out of the mat easily without grabbing weeds.
