Flipping is so much more personal and in their face. I can only do it in rare instances in SoCa lakes so that's why I travel in the pre spawn so much. What a thrill to get it done on Clear Lake with one of your preferred approaches. Thanks for sharing.

I based my 27 limit number on my own performance last week. I had a 25+ limit in 15 minutes on one spot. You have to move to find winning fish. Your not going to pull out a flipping stick and beat these fish into submission. To much pressure.

I carolina rig with a 3/16 sinker and a 3 foot leader and use upton's reapers. green pumpkin appears to be a color to use for many baits right now. Funny you would say that. I was using the gold years before it was at T.W.. I got it on the beach before getting on a 11/2 day out of San Diego. The 70 pound bluefin I mention was on 25 gold. 2 speed reel and silky drag...Good stuff,,,,

I tie a double uni...reel the knot within an inch or two of entering the reel and trim it about 3 guides down hanging out of the rod tip. I tie up my rig in the fluorocarbon so the knot is never in the reel. 5-7 feet depending on the rod in my hand. Stiffness doesn't enter into the equation for me. ...

All I ever use for leader material. I use 10 power pro super slick and 8 fluorocarbon on my dropshot all day long and have for over 25 years. At Clear lake I will bump it to 10 and 12. I use the 10pp - 10f for my senko's but again I go to 12 on clear lake

Crossing guards... Sorry but a third of the course is right down the middle of the road length wise that they closed off. It doesn't matter when they get there. I read the results of the 18 boat tournament A.B.A. had 9/9 from 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Casitas.
