There is no magic bullet. Some days they bite it in the first few feet of your retrieve, other days they follow, other days you don't see them at all. Try casting farther and adding some erratic moves or speed in the middle of your retrieve. In general speeding up is better to trigger a follower tha...

Re: Aluminum boat clean up?
It is a mistake to polish off the oxidation. The oxidation forms a protective layer on the aluminum that stops any further oxidation. If you polish it off it will just oxidize again, but you now have less material than you started with. If you keep doing it you'll continue to thin the aluminum. Best...

Re: Can a person push pole a bass boat?
I have a one piece 18' Stiffy Hybrid push pole on my Ranger 520. You can't really pole a bass boat the way they pole the flats skiffs in Florida. #1 the bass boat is alot heavier (a flats skiff can weigh well under 1,000 pounds is designed to be poled). Yes you can push the bass boat around but it's...

Plastic lens glasses like Wiley X don't last long, especially if you are of the type that wipes them off on your T-shirt. I find premium glass lenses last alot longer and don't scratch up to a point of being unusable in less than a year. Maui Jim is excellent. Costas are probably pretty good too. If...

I'm using it on iPhone, must be similar on Android. Battery life is very short if you're leaving it on, you will need a charger in the boat if you plan to use it as a primary GPS device. You would have like an hour tops on the Android without charging. It is a great tool though!!!

You do not need a Coast Guard permit unless you are transfering or guiding six or more people or navigating salt water. That is false, you are required to have the coast guard license for any "vessel for hire" in USCG navigable waters, including 100% of the delta. Most of the black bass g...

The biggest issue is that fuel system is not up to snuff for modern gasolines with ethanol. How the knot is tied and pulled tight is at least as important as the knot itself. Confidence in your knots and getting consistent results is very important!!! Knots can be tied very well, or very poorly, with HUGE variance in the break strengths.

Sleep in the boat... anchor up in a protected area, or better yet go into some marina and tie up in a vacant covered berth, sleep on the deck in a sleeping bag... use the marinas showers and bathrooms. You can pay for overnight berth pretty cheap typically.
