I have always wondered why you cast, switch hands and then reel. Also setting the hook with your left arm seems unatural, no power. Never made any sense to me. i believe in first come first serve when it comes to fishing no matter who you are. i tend to stay as far away as humanly possible, but what do you do when you are fishing the tules in one direction and another boat is fishing up the other way? who has the right of way then?

not sure if anyone has tried this but it works! all you need is a shop vac and a spent spool of line. just open your bail and suck the line up in the vacuum.
