Re: NADA boat values vs fair offer?
Guys , thanks for the quick response and information. I have had old VW's so I understand old tired engines. Does anyone know the compression specs of that engine? If it does blow what kind of $$ would I be looking for a re-build? Going to have another look next week and will check the things listed...

NADA boat values vs fair offer?
Looking into buying my first true bass boat and have a couple questions about the NADA values vs a fair offer for the boat. Boat is a 1984 Ranger 373V with Merc 150 black max. All original down to the 1984 motor guide TM. Has been sitting for close to 2 years (covered). Carpet is bad but everything ...

Re: Where would you fish on monday?
Went to bullards on Monday, got there around 10am as I took the family. Launched at dark day and ran up a bit trying to find a sandy spot to beach the boat and let the family out to swim etc. I had no idea that lake was that DEEP!! The deepst I have ever fished before that was around 30 ft on the ri...

Where would you fish on monday?
Hey guys, Just moved here from Oregon ,and finally got my boat registered. I have monday off and will be heading out for my first Nor Cal bass trip. I would like to stay close but still have a productive day. So on that note where would you go? I have a 14'6" boat so the wind will be a big fact...

Re: Smart Cast?
I had the RF 35 (wrist watch model) for a while and when it did work, it was great! I did have problems with the transducer and sent it back twice for repair. Used with great results fishing for trout from my float tube. Used an old fly reel with floating line as to not have to pack 2 rods.

Re: Sore Thumb therapy?
Nu-Skin is good as it's a small mesh that you glue on your skin with a clear fingernail polish / superglue like stuff. The bad thing is it's not very flexable and does not last long if you get it wet. I just found this site http://www.wonderguards.com/ and they look perfect for what you need. Superg...

Mmmmmmmmm squawfish. Catch them all the time up here in the rivers, some up to 5lbs, they love the new berkley paddle tails in rainbow trout. There is actually a bounty on them in the Columbia river. As mentioned they eat large ammounts of salmon and steelhead smolts, you can get up to 6$ a fish if ...

Re: fishing dog
I love taking my Golden Retreiver out fishing. He is the only one that will go when it's raining or cold. Never complains or asks to go home. loves to swim , chase the fish and everything in between. Great dog to have in the boat minus the hair which is not too bad. He never jumps out unless I tell ...

Re: off topic: anybody fish for Delta carp?
There are TONS of carp here in the rivers of Oregon and I have hooked them on both fly and chucking bait. When fly fishing for them remember they are VERY spooky, so use long leaders and learn how to lay that fly line down with no splash. I use to get lots of them on gold hare's ear nymphs and weigh...

Re: Non-Tox shotshell options for older guns
I too have an older shotgun (winchester 1400 autoloader) that is not approved for Steel shot. Hevi shot is what I have been using and I have not noticed any scoring in the barrel. This stuff is great and hits hard!!

Re: ROLL CALL FOR ALL POSTERS AND READERS !!
John Brewer (33) reporting. I work swing shift and look at this site probably 10+ times a night reading everything I can. Been bass fishing since I was a kid in the midwest, I live in Oregon now and fish the Willamette river and area lakes for bass from my trusty 14' G3. 90% of what I catch are smal...

Re: Roping a deer
hahaha, my cousin and I tried that one time with an old tom turkey that came up to the house to eat corn from a feeder that fed the domestic turkeys my uncle raised. Well since we had previously been grounded from any and all use of firearms on the farm (that is another story) we decided to rope it ...

Thanks for the reply guys! I have a 14'6" boat now and it sounds like it would be perfect for some of those small lakes. I should know if I am moving by next week or so. (Waiting on offer) I think I have caught 3 largemouth in the last 2 years up here. Will be nice to hook some green bass! One ...

Possible Move to NoCal
After 11 years in Oregon and chasing smallmouth almost exclusively I may be moving to the Grass Valley area in a couple of months. Can anyone tell me about the lakes or rivers around that area? I also want to try my hand at the delta and clear lake. Thanks in advance for the help!!

Re: Yum Craw Bugs....HELP
I rig mine with a 1/4 - 3/8 teardrop tube hook with the 60 deg bend. I have rigged it like he does but it seems to get them in the bottom jaw too much. I mostly fish the rivers here in Oregon for smallies but they seem to like them. The 60deg eye seems to help them not get hung so much.

Re: Tuck - Damn Sea Lions!
Living in Oregon I have seen first hand the damage the SL's do on the fishery. They come up the fish ladders at bonneville dam and eat the salmon by the TON's!! Not the entire fish either just a couple of big bites from the belly's of the hens. There was a video last year on the news of 2 SL's takin...

Nope Blue Cats can live just about anywhere. I have also heard that crawfish do a number on the mussels as well.

Oregon has the same thing as well. You can take class and test on-line for free and mail that info in with $10 and get your license. As of January 1, 2008, boaters 70 and younger must now carry a boater education card when operating powerboats (including personal watercraft or any motorized watercra...
