Try Woodward, Discovery Bay, or the docks at/around Orwood.

If you are willing to drive up to Clear Lake, there are some monster bluegill spawning right now in the north end of the lake. I was actually mistaking them for small bass (which are still spawning too).

Squaw Fish are definitely fun to catch. They're not exactly fun to handle though- sorta slimy.

Congrats on finding the Hud. If you find a 8" ROF 5 up at Clear Lake let me know. I lost one last year during the Rally :x

I had this problem before too. Try posting the ad without being logged in.

It will ask you to log in as part of the process of creating an ad, so I think if you are logged in already it messes things up.

I recommend using either the Palomar knot or the San Diego knot. I throw the Punker on braid because, as you are soon to find out, you can cast this bait a mile and a half! The braid makes it easier to walk while your bait is way out there, and if you get hit, the minimal stretch of braid gives you ...

I have two just like that, and I was wondering the same thing.

To me it looks like the bill is both lopsided and crooked on the ones that don't swim. If yours is the same, you might have to shave down the bill a bit to make it level.

I don't know how the reaction bite is right now, but last Sunday I caught a few fish on spinnerbaits, and heard others were catching fish with them too. As for the other part of your post, I am no help. Sorry :)

I think you can let them sit in distilled water for a bit and it will help.

Someone (I think John at Walton's Pond) told me to do this a few years ago, but I'm not positive it was him. It couldn't hurt to call his shop and ask though.

I will fish for anything that bites, but I mainly bass fish. The reason being that I live by two of the best bass fisheries in the world. 15 miles from the Delta :D and only a few hours from Clear Lake :D. I really don't think one is better than the other, but that is just my opinion.

Also, if you didn't already know, the bluegill comes in both floating and sinking, while the redear only comes in floating.

For the knot, I use the Slim Beauty knot as it is thinner and it goes through the guides of the rod easier. It is pretty easy to tie, and it is strong too. I also recommend Crestliner. My dad and I have a 1750 Fish Hawk and you would be surprised how much space there is in it.

Ambush Lures makes a shallow-running crankbait called the Pop Eye that suspends. I've only thrown it in the pool so far, but it looks like it will catch fish. I know I have some others that suspend too, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

I haven't been out on the Delta in close to a month, so I'm not too sure what's going on out there right now.
What should I throw and where should I look to throw it? I'm thinking jigs would be a good bet, but should I throw them in the tules, or rocks, or what?
