Re: Hirz bay launch-Shasta
Thanks for the pictures and information. That’s funny one person said they launched at Hirz bay launch two days ago. We are at a group campsite nearby that is open. I’ll find somewhere to launch the Basscat. Just hopefully not all the way back to bridge bay.

Hirz bay launch-Shasta
Anyone know what’s up with the Hirz bay ramp? It shows as being closed and I have a camping trip coming up next month in that area. Trying to figure out what to do. Thanks!

Ultrex calls for a larger circuit breaker also. It’s an easy job but it takes a little time. You also have the gps puck to mount and power up. Pretty straight forward.

Re: Have you called Ranger Boats lately?
That’s too bad. I would expect more from a top of the line boat company.
One of the reasons I went with Basscat. They are very easy to reach out to. Online and on the phone, they answer questions. Even for guys like me with a 14 year old boat.

Yea you can switch out chips. It’s probably just another mapping card that is in it. Make sure you select the chart you want to use(source) so you can actually see the new one.

Re: Mid size swimbait rods
Definitely don’t need a dedicated swimbait rod for 3/8 oz heads. Lots of rods will work for this and there will be a lot of person preference involved. What is your current jig rod? Maybe pick up another one of those and have two of the same rod. I use a dobyns champion 764c for medium swimbaits 6” ...

I replaced mine and it helped quiet everything down. My bushings had fallen apart. The bolts that hold it all on are pretty heavy duty and difficult to remove. Definitely need a breaker bar and impact drill. Or you could take it to a trailer shop and have them dial it in.

Pantera classics are rated for 150-200 HP. They are said run well with the 150 and 175 HP motors on them, and they rip with a 200HP.

I have one power pole. Two would be nice, but one does pretty darn good. When your on shallow schooling fish it makes life SO easy. You can cull, retie, and just focus on fishing instead of boat position. As stated, pros and cons for each. I like that with the power pole i can lower it on the fly(ha...

I've had nothing but problems with my point one on my bass cat. Its been in three (3) different spots and has never worked the way it should. Five feet from anything electronic as they suggest is pretty difficult to do on a bass boat. Recently bought a new antenna to try to see if mine was defective.

More info would help. What altitude? What rpm/speed do you run? What is the max rpm recommended for your motor? Does the boat have a jack plate? Prop to pad measurement? I used to own a 17' champion with 115 and i believe it had a 19 pitch 3 blade laser II mercury prop. The rpm's would exceed the re...

Straight down. It looks like they built a spot specifically for it to mount. It sits pretty close to where the seat pedistal mounts. It's hard to get to though. I would not be able to change it I don't think.

You guys know people do fish for bass to keep them and take them home to eat right? Just because a fish is on a stringer does not mean someone was cheating in a tournament. Thats a good speed for a 115 and a 17' boat. You could get your current prop cleaned up by a prop shop if need be. I used to have a similar set up and it sounds like your on track with speed.
