I lost a very nice rod reel combo today in the Disappointment area. If anyone finds it I would pay a nice finders fee.
Its a Dobyns 745 with a Steez reel. This combo usually floats.

I use the Steez reels also and love them for most applications.
For punching, flipping, a-rigs , frog,. and heavy line use baits I
prefer the Diawa Zillion reels. Theses have great quality and are very durable.

I had the same problem.
Went to a different brand of a rig and my tangles have went down by 80% or more.
Try other brands and you will find one that works for you.
