Team Tournaments and Accountability question for you all???

I fear that this post will cause some "Drama", but I can't help but pop the question: Is it remotely possible that teams could cheat in these non-accountable formats? I know it seems to be Urban legend, I have heard 55 gallon drums, feeding stations, fish snagged on lines, boats huddling u...

Lost 10 pounder in FLW Delta?

Don't want to be a rumor monger, but I wanted to see if there is any truth to one of the top finishers losing a fish because of the net and a non-boat stab? Just interested in the story. How many guys have had this happen? I almost knocked a frog fish off the line with the net last year in the AC Pr...

How late are you taking sign-ups tomorrow? Weigh-in and take-off from Marina? What's for lunch? Who and what curcuit is providing the anglers with killer food/drinks after the tournament? Samuel has a Jazz concert tomorrow and he will not be able to attend, so I will be solo for the team. See you in...

Vince, Since you mentioned it, you struck my cord. I empathize with Phil and all the other teams that have looked forward to this event, both with time and lots of money. Running a curcuit from Texas must be a very hard feat without having the staff for any unforseen back-up for these type of situat...

Hooked a sturgeon at Oroville practicing for an A/C TOC

A few years ago, this time of year I saw fish on my graph at 70' and started spooning a 1/2oz spoon with 10 pound Seagar line and I hooked and fought a fish for what seemed forever. My partner thought I was just kidding or I had hooked a log. So I handed him the rod when the fish went "dead-wei...

Re: I get a new rod!!

NoCal,

I suggest a Shimano, Crucial (CRC-S711XH). The "Hook" has this in a Med/Heavy. It's one pc, 7'11" and it is priced right at $149.

I use it for Swimbaits in the "swimbait season" and buzzbaits and frogs during the "off-season".

Lots of good choices....

One tip that I didn't see...the reel engagement.

I learned this trick/tip from some Minnesota spinning reel guys. When a person engages (closes the bail) the reel automatically by cranking the shaft handle this will cause the line to twist 6 times compared to 1 time if you manually engage the reel (close the bail). I agree with Johnny C. Have the ...
