Re: Looking for some help w/ Texas lakes
Fork is definately nice but in Feb will have lots of traffic. Contact James Caldemeyer for info http://www.officiallakeforktrophybass.com/ In feb you'll want white spinnerbaits and swim jigs in pearly shad patterns. Might be a good Trap bite, too. OH Ivie is off the beaten path and on fire lately. R...

Re: Shibui Yana (FishTrap!)
No need to modify, it will burn across the surface like a buzzbait. It stays level, plus it makes an audible whirring sound when you do it. We've fished it on top both with and without a trailer. It's designed to be totally versatile and can be fished from the surface down about as deep as you want ...

Thank you for bringing this up. In addition to the points already made, the main source for economical tungsten manufacturing is China. A lead ban will not only impact numerous American jobs and families, but even more of our American dollars will go offshore as well.

Scott, your technique is cool - I haven't heard of many using the spoon like that here in Texas. But then we don't have many of the rocky reservoirs like out West. For us, the key is finding schools of bass that are preying on large bait like white bass, small hybrids, gizzard shad or other large ba...

That's the meaning of the Japanese word Yuugyo. It also describes the performance of our new Shibui YuugyoTM Swim Jig. It has an inherent natural swimming action even without a trailer, and we've balanced it to perform with many popular trailers including the Optimum Double Diamond, Reaction Innovat...

The patent was granted last December, so those who received the cease and desist letters sent out earlier this year have likely sought legal advice and will continue manufacturing as usual. What I find curious is that they applied way back in 2005. I think 5 years is a long time to grant a fairly si...

Not to be contrary to the good advice given, but I wouldn't paint 'em until they stop working. If the fish don't care, you probably shouldn't. And secondly, seeing their condition may remind you that you've had the bait awhile and that you have been stressing the wire (stainless) on all those other...

Re: Feathered Trebles on Jerkbaits
I think a suspending jerkbait with a short bill and a wiggle action, like a Rogue, definately benefits from the feathers if you're using a jerk or twitch and let it sit for a while retrieve. I believe the feathers act like a parachute and help stop the bait more abruptly so it actually stops and sit...

Discipline is a must when using a fast reel for spinnerbaits. You wouldn't believe how many anglers tell me their spinnerbait won't run deep - what's the problem. Then I find out they're using a high speed 7-something reel. Blades can be downsized to compensate for the lift, however it's at the cost...

Mark, I have no idea. I've never bought or used any. I know quite a few custom painters use them, though. The only one's I've messed around with are some Jackall Aragon SR knockoffs from Predator Baits which seem to work great.

I don't think it's that old; stick on 3-d eyes are a fairly new addition to mainstream crankbaits. Have you looked at Barlow's and the other places with knock-off bodies? Lots of the blanks are clear and most of them use 3-d eyes.

I've never learned to swim a jig. I've messed around with swimming an arkie style head around docks and standing timber, but I've never developed a feel for it. Give me an old Mogambo grub T-rigged with a little 1/4oz bullet weight and I can usually do some major damage swimming that getup.
