Thanks for the advice guys! Im in a local club and we're fishing Delta and Clear Lake soon. Im hesitant about taking the boat there in fear of one of those crazy days. I use them and like them a lot. They are better than any other float system I've used. One thing, though: Make sure your scale has a pounds and ounces format to match the Smart Cull format. Smart Cull doesn't have a decimal format. You want your scale to say "5 lbs. 7 oz.," not pounds and ...

I think it's $45 to replace a Max rod, $60 if you want to upgrade to Endurance. Personally, I would rather pay for a new rod than put a replacement tip on it.

I don't like flipping jigs because they hang up too much. If you want a skirted presentation, try using a Texas-rigged creature of some sort with a punch skirt. It'll come through the crap clean just about every time.
