Britton is a smallmouth lake with some large mixed in. Been a long time since I fished it but it used to have a great crappie population. This time of year I would fish the north shore around any wood I could find. Not sure where you are launching but have never seen power at docks on that lake.

I too had the luxury of fishing with Rick and getting whooped by the upside down reel. I met Rick through the Region 5 Bass Federation and he was always the consummate professional. He will be missed by all that knew him. My condolences go out to his family.
