Re: Outdoor Recreation contributes $128 billion in economic activity, supports over 900,000 jobs
I wonder if the numbers have decreased or increased in the state of California? Outdoor recreation is a big bucket to put things in as it includes camping and kayaking but not necessarily outdoor sports like fishing and hunting.

Re: Shared Weight vs. Non Shared Weight Tournaments
It is short sighted in CA to disclude co-anglers from fishing with a "Pro" in shared weight on the West coast. The numbers continue to decline and traditionally the Co-s are what makes money to fuel the organizations and sponsorship attention. FFS takes the Co's further out of the game, as...

Ash - my pitching technique is fine. It’s my arm hurting when I set the hook. I’m just looking for a rod that will absorb some of the initial energy when I set the hook. Gotcha - Check out the Phoenix line of rods, they are lighter and the but comes down the forearm. The Recon is a good price point...

Re: Punch rod suggestions
I run two punching rods, an 805 for 1.5 oz - 2oz and a 705 flip stick for heavy flippin - that 805 is a bit stiff but its meant to have power to pull them out of the mats - it all depends on your style of fishing and pitchin. With proper pitchin technic you dont really need a soft rod that helps you...

Fizzing fish is not that difficult. for spots through the crushers is easier or if the air bladder is in the mouth for largies and smallies the lateral line is pretty good. Anglers concerned about losing points vs learning how to properly care for the fish are being selfish. The Fish and Wildlife ca...

My experience is limited, but you may be OVERWORKING the bait. Try slowing WAY DOWN on your retrieve. It helped me with a similar glidebait problem.
