Tournament Fishing
I used to fish a lot of tournaments and went through a divorce and the boat was a casualty. I am looking to get back into it, but can't afford a boat. Any suggestions as to what are the better tournaments for a non-boater?

I am under the assumption that it would be a contract situation for most. However, it is possible if their name is association with a product like Skeet Reese and Lamiglas there might be a royalty situation.

Re: Bed Fish
I stayed on it for about 1.5 hours.
Re: Bed Fish
That helps a lot. The fish were rolling and when I couldn't get them to go, I left and came back.
The male was still there, but the female was gone. So I am wondering if someone did spook the female away or didn't need the male for their bag.

Re: FPT - Clear Lake any stories?
Lots of bed fish, I didn't see to many big females.
I did have one 7#er that got off at the boat.
I had another 5- 7#er that was on a bed but she wasn't ready. Went back later and guess she was by then and someone else got her. Oh well.

Bed Fish
Ok I found a bed yesterday with a male and Female on it.
I could not get them to go, but indicated that they might be ready.
No matter what I threw they weren't having any of it.
I'm not sure what I could have done differently, any suggestions.

made a decision that you regretted afterwards. Yesterday I was in line to weigh in at the FPT and heard all the weights being called and knew that I wasn't in a position to place well, but would have done well to get the points. For whatever reason, lack of paitence maybe, I decided to just go. Well...

I'm sure this has come up in the past, but I am wondering when you decide to move from one spot to the next. I fished FPT yesterday and I found myself in a bit of a dilema. I was in an area that held good quality fish, but I couldn't seem to deliver what they wanted. Not to mention the area had been...

I actually had quite a few bites, ended up catching a 5 fish limit but nothing to brag about.
I did have a really good bite, but got so excited that I set the hook to early. It seems that I am always one missed fish from putting together a good bag. Oh well it beats workin' anyday.

I am actually fishing Berryessa this weekend and it looks like by all accounts I will be fishing while the front is coming. I am hoping it doesn't lock them down, but I have a feeling that it is going to be a good bite. I don't know that just by be the optimist in me.

Ok, so I am going fishing this weekend and saw that the weather reports says that there is going to be a cold front moving in around Saturday evening.
So I guess my question would be, how to fish an approaching cold front.

Reading all the posts about paybacks. I was wondering what is considered a fair payback. I am not sure what the expenses are when running a tournament, but what is fair for the angler's and what is fair for the organization. If an organization draws say 100 boats, how many places should be paid and ...

Re: Which Tow vehicle would you go with?
I had a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with the Hemi and loved the power, it was fun to drive and wished I still had it. Never had any problems with it. For me it didn't tow the boat very smoothly. I now have a 2006 Chevy Tahoe 4 x 4 V8 it tows a lot better than the Dodge did, in my opinion. However, if I coul...

This has nothing to do with netting but.
Last year at the Clear Lake Elite Series I was paired with Jared Litner Saturday and he had me lip his 8# + fish that was hooked on a swimbait.
Talk about scary.
