My son won the district with his science project, but it was in 6th grade, not 8th grade. The science project was using a pellet gun, and involved flat head pellets vs pointed head pellets. Not sure if is a good thing. We have had a few good largemouth lakes up here in Washington State that have seen the numbers dwindle when the smallmouth were introduced. Maybe it just relocated the largemouth somewhere, but they were not there in the usual haunts.

I have been using Toray for 2.5 years in the 5,8,10,12 lb lines, and it is excellent . Really have never had any problems with it, and the breaking strength is very good also. A bit of memory on the 12#, but the 10# is still usable on 3500 series spinning reels.

The key to using braid for the swimbaits is to tie the polimar knot, and instead of running the loop thru once when you tie the overhand knot, try running it thru 2 times. This works well....give it a try.
