Re: Clear Lake Algae
I was fishing Wheeler Pt last weekend (just inside Konocti Bay), there was no wind, and the usual green algae was pretty damned thick. The bad part was the fact that I saw blue jellyfish lookin clumps of algae that I think were the cause of the terrible schtank last year! Hope I'm wrong.

The algae problem from last summer killed business owners and ruined the tourism season, yet, have you heard, or seen a plan set in place to handle this possible problem this year? The mussel sticker program is nothing but a money grab by the county. They take in all this money, yet nothing is seen...

I think Shimano come out with good (no spool backlash) left-handed baitcasters around 12-15 yrs ago, maybe longer. For me cranking left handed is easy and right hand/arm has the best hook setting power and overall rod control. Flippin is not quite as cool for me with a lefty reel because the line ya...

My guess is the fish won't be LOCKED on beds yet. It's still been real cold at night and water temps just aren't coming up very fast. The bucks are just starting to move in closer. This doesn't mean there won't be some fish on beds. There is also the extreme pressure of endless tournaments this time...
