Night fishing is pretty much what I live for. How about ... Lighting *Favorite headlamps and why *On board lighting *To blacklight or not to blacklight? *Screwing up your night vision? Spooking fish? Attracting them? *How bad it sucks getting old and losing your vision but still having to tie an alb...

Tried to send you a PM but this site never seems to send my PMs for some unknown reason.

If you still have the CoPilot for sale, send me A PM. Never seem to have trouble receiving them.

Thanks!

Re: Spinning rod Superline

Glad to see this topic as I was thinking of posting a similar question. On this note, I've read somewhere that if you spool braid on a spinning reel you need to start out by spooling a few yards of mono backer and then finish out with the braid. Is there any truth to that or is it OK to just spool t...

Horrible news. I'm really saddened to hear this. My deepest condolences to his family and closest friends. Jim was an absolute class act and a genuinely great person to talk to. Does anyone know exactly what time they are shutting down the 405? I would suspect they'll shut it down at 12 am sharp, but I don't know for sure. If so, good chance the traffic jam on the 5 could start immediately after and make the drive home south a little nasty, no?

Re: ABA Piru Nights tomorrow....whos fishing?

Not even a bite for us until 11 pm when my man Danny shook one off on a senko. For the next 30 minutes he landed 2 and I got 1 for a monster 3 fish bag of 5.6 pounds. I guess 3 fish is our team limit now or our Piru allotment I should say. If Danny hadn't found that little school out in open water, ...

It's been hard to keep the wheels on the last two events we fished. As the hours pass without a bite, the voice of doubt starts to creep in ... "We suck ... Everyone else is probably whackn'em right now!"

Braid wrapping around the rod tip

Does anyone know how to best keep braid from wrapping around your rod tip?

If it's happening often, is that a sign that I should re-spool?

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions on how to minimize this freaking annoyance!

We're in! Looks like we'll finally have warm temps all night. Hopefully the bite warms up along with it. Apparently, me and Danny need it to be WFO just to scratch out a limit! See you tomorrow!

Re: How to remove old carpet glue

speaking from my own trial and error experience, the wire wheel and high speed drill was the only method I found both effective and efficient. I tried the acetone/scraper combo at first and ultimately just stopped using the acetone at all and went to work with the wire wheel on dry, untreated glue. ...

musseldogs ... make it your goal in life to prove that your dogs can sniff out the veligers. We've practically proven that dogs can smell cancer cells in urine, so a little mussel veliger should be a walk in the park :D Scoop up a test tube full of water from Havasu, put it under a microscope to con...

Re: Tournament boat inspections by Mussel Dogs

Looking at the video on your site, and I see dogs sniffing out the mature mussels, which you'll never find on any tournament angler's bass boat. The big question: Can your dogs sniff out the mussel larvae? If so, sounds like a great solution to me. (edited for "mussel" vs "muscle")

I've been looking forward to this all year. I haven't fished a full tournament trail since 2008, and that was from the back seat, so this will be my first trail ever as a boater. We're going in with the modest goal of just cashing a check at some point this summer! Not able to get enough time on the...

Hey Corkvet ... I spent all of last summer restoring a 1991 Astro that I purchased which had been left in the sun for about 3 or 4 years straight and was pretty much bleached white. At the time, I got a lot of advise from message boards and so had returned the favor with the post below which I wrote...
