Re: Clear Lake this week...9/2/2014
Spent last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning out there. Here's a quick rundown. First of all, I have spent a majority of my 3.5 years out on the Delta but love the occasional trip to Clear lake. So I don't have a ton of experience out there but love the scenery. Thursday- Hunted around for that f...

Re: ReelEx December Special....EXTENDED 4 DAYS! FINAL WEEK!
WOW! Just got my reels back from Dan and he brought the heat! They are smooth as butter. Shouldn't have waited so long to have them serviced but that would have required me to stop fishing haha. I sent him 10 reels and he had them on my doorstep 6 days later. He went way above and beyond. It's a bre...

Watch out for so called "property taxes"on your purchcase! I'm no native of California and learned the hard way that if you own a "luxury boat" depending on your county you may be subject to a property tax. Silly state....love your weather but get it together!

College fishing ROCKS! Don't let these old timer's  get you guy's down. Fact is....the FLW and BASS trail are attracting a lot of young COMPETITIVE anglers. I'm no native of California, in my home state, Illinois bass fishing is actually a high school sport. Most the major universities (includ...

Hey Cooch, Thanks for your response! Gotta be honest I spent quite a bite of time reading some your articles when I moved out here. Good 411! Only got a few years to figure it out before it's on to the next location. Def helps shorten the learning curve. Yesterday I changed tactics too. Wailed on em...

Vince, I gotten the same action on cranks and flipping small creature baits. But the BIG bite has yet to show itself. Last year October was rocking!! Lot's of action from big delta bass. This year.....nada. Looks like a lot of the stellar Delta Rats are running into the same issues. Just peeked at t...

Luxury Boat Tax...Come on!
Not a native of Cali but holy cow batman....I can't believe I'm paying property taxes on my Ranger! Just got off the phone with the Solano County Assessor and even though I'm a resident of Illinois and on orders stationed out here I have to pay property taxes on my "luxury boat" haha. This...

Scott, Great post. Lot's of extremly useful information. I certainly appreciate you taking the time to better educate us all. Wow! I'm not even from this state (Illinois Native) and this story boils my blood. I'm an avid fisherman and have honestly never hunted. I'm also in the AF and stationed at Travis. I can't imagine not having a way to get out on the water. Karma's a bi&ch. I'm out on the Delta pretty much ever weekend. Always got a seat in the boat if you want to go out. Drop me a line,

Quantum Tour KVD Cranking Rod 7'9'' MH
I have a brand new Quantum Tour KVD Cranking Rod 7'9'' MH still wrapped w/tags. I already have one. Great D-22 rod. You can chuck a crank bait a country mile w/this thing. Since I won't be fishing the deep ledges of Ky Lake anytime soon I'd like for someone else to enjoy this rod. $100.00. We can di...

Mac, Good point about the figure eight, but I haven't had any such luck with bass. Speaking purely musky, if a fish is following my bait the first thing I always do is add a burst of speed. More often than not, that will trigger a fish. Sometimes it just excites them more and that’s when I'll get th...

Hey Guys~!!! I've always been a fan of Picasso Shakedown Shaky head's. They've done well for me in the Midwest. While they've been good to me on the Delta, I find they get hung up in the many dif types of vegetation on the bottom. What brand/model do you guy's use out on the Delta? Any pointers woul...

Had one on this weekend too! It was to big to fit in my bass net, after she flopped out of the net I tried to hand land her...didn't work out so well and she came unpinned at the boat after a really fun battle.

Rouge, I'm a native of the mid west so I have fished in some pretty bone chilling temps. For the boots, Cabelas usually has a boot on sale named the "Snow Runner" extremely light and warm. Think I picked up my pair for 50 bucks. For the hands I always bring multiple pairs of liner gloves a...

Hey all! Just found out I'll be headed to Travis AFB for my first assignment as a MX officer. I spent 4 years as an enlisted troop out there but really never fished. I know the area fairly well and plan on staying in Vacaville. I've been fishing pretty hard since I separated and started college at S...
