We only use the running lights and our headlamps. The only time we use our headlamps is when we retie or netting a fish. Other than that, we like it dark.

AS fisherman, we have to be careful not let a couple of drops of water from our boats get into a quagga infested lake that will send it's water down to Elderberry, another quagga infested lake, and then through a 10 foot tall concrete tunnel under the elderberry dam and into Castaic. I guess we have...

That's a great report Mike. But my question is, as it stands now, if my boat hasn't been in any lake for a couple of weeks, would I be able to go to Castaic or Pyramid and fish or would I have to go get cabled and return after the 8 days?

To me, the common sense rule, would be to have a Pyramid, Castaic, Piru tag and we can fish between those lakes. But to not allow a boat between those lakes now, is just stupid.

I assume you're going to use a hole saw then. I don't think they make different teeth sizes for them. The regular one would be ok. Just make sue you don't drill into any power cables that run along the gunnel. I'm speaking from experience from when I installed mine.

Tom, we fish a lot of night tournies down here, mostly Castaic. You really don't want a lot of lights on your boat. Another thing I see on the fishing shows that makes for bad images, is when they have a fish that's eaten a jig and they smack the jig with their hand to unhook the jig. I've had people watching that don't know and ask why they just hit the fish in the mouth. It just looks bad.

How about some kind of pack in trip on horses like in the High Sierra. There are pack trips that would be guided and they do all the cooking and camp set up. That way you wouldn't need any specialty gear.
