Re: question about boat launches at Tournaments.
Good question. Launching at tournaments you see guys at different trailer skill levels. I have never done the Wednesday nights but that parking lot does tend to get pretty crowded and things can get tight. Some things to remember when backing up a trailer (especially if it’s been a while): go slow, ...

Looks like skeeter is taking care of Washington. How does California not have anything like this? Skeeter, White Rive Marine, how about an open that offers something like this. Build it, they will come.

Future Pro Tour Lake Camanche
FPT Camanche is coming up. I think everyone who has fished that event knows how backed up the lines can get with all of the boat inspections, leading to late launching times. Just some things to think about for a smoother process. -Make sure your boat is dry, live wells, no water in motor. -Have you...

I took the Boat US course, took about 4hrs. It actually seemed pretty useful especially the on the water rules as far as navigating around other vessels. Lots of common sense stuff.

I bought used last year, they assessed it at 37k didn’t challenge it. Think I will this year when the bill comes in. It’s California so not expecting much of a change in that regard. Taxed at 1.19%, so it was actually $440, I rounded up.

Any of those combos will work just fine, the only carp fishing I’ve done has been with light spinning gear. The way a carp can pull and run is a lot of fun with lighter gear. I used to fish for them in the backwaters of Lake Natoma, simple Carolina rig, usually 12lb leader. We used cheap white bread...

I transport my kayak out of the bed of my pickup so I don’t have too much experience with racks. I would say for loading on your own you will mostly likely want a rack that cradles the kayak instead of sitting g up on its side. A trailer is a good idea, could be impractical based on what storage cap...
