Thank you for the info Ken. I believe that I have already input the fishing mode and ducer model on the unit. I think it is a bad placement of the ducer. Thanks for the advice.. The plug looked fine. I will check all the connections and clean them. It is a minn kota maxxum 80 24volt. I was using it alot in the wind maybe that f'd it up.

Battery Problem

One of my trolling motor batteries (Optima Blue top 27) is having some issues. There is a little melting around the positive post and the middle fuse in the series popped. What could cause those wires to become hot enough to melt that area around the post. Thanks

I'm no expert on that lake but I think that the water came up this year pretty fast and this might have thrown everything out of whack. Those winter patterns that they are so locked into never really happened with consistency. I hear from some people that the shad were small this year and never grew...
