Re: Lowrance LMS 332-c - $250

How old is the unit? Will water/rain cause damage because of the crack? Can you send me info on how to contact you?

Re: 12-13 report

You can find out if the gates are open/closed by checking website for USBR (Burea of Reclamation) www.USBR.gov/mp/cvd/vungvari/doc_chng.txt (not sure if I got the website right). Their reasoning for closing is for fish protection. Whenever salmon are detected coming thru, they close it.

Re: Lake Berryessa AC tournament 11-21

I remember in the old days when West Coast Bass held draw tournaments and team tournaments that drew over 200 boats, no doubt it will accomodate todays pro/am style tournaments. Back then we launched from Spanish Flat Resort. FPT still draws a lot of boats (100+?) and uses Pleasure Cove. I will be t...

Re: Looking for a truly lightweight, fatigue-free frog setup

I have a different view than the rest. Most guys prefer longer rods, but my outfit of choice is a 6'6" med/hvy rod with a 200 size reel and 50# braid. The lighter line enables you to make longer cast and the short rod allows you to walk your frog effortlessy for hours. The shorter rod also allo...

Re: Help Identify this Species

I caught one at berryessa that looked like that. At first I thought it was a crappie/bluegill mix, or sacto. perch, but now I don't know. There was a whole colony of them spawning in Markeley Cove and their beds were a little deeper than the bluegills that were also spawning.

Oh crap! I hope it's an isolated incident. I've had mine for about a year and so far no problems, in fact, I love them so much, I bought a spare. Thanks for the warning. :(

Re: Rain Gear

I like the new pro version frog togs, they weigh about 2 pounds vs 11oz for the old ones, and are really tough and durable. The old ones wore out too fast and were not made for heavy downpours, although I never really got wet in them either. The pro version was on sale for less than $100 at "Ta...

Clear lake is always busy, plus, this weekend is the Triton Owner's Tournament. That should put an extra 100+ boats on the water.

Re: what brand inflatable pfd

I have a sospenders world class and had it accidentally discharge twice so far. I just tried to buy another re-arming kit for my last accidental discharge and bought the wrong size Co2 cartridge. Apparently, they make more than one size, and the difference is in the neck (where the threading is). Th...

haven't fished there for about 10 years, but the last time I was there, the white bass were going nuts, although they only weigh 1/4 to 1/2 pounds. Lot's of trash fish too. Did not get a single bass.
