I don't have a problem with the Pro's cherry picking events because they are not relying on co's to garantee their entry as there are usually more co's than pro's. The problem I have is the Co's (yes like my son) that paid in full way back in December (for all 4 events) only to be put on a waiting l...

My son signed up and paid in full last December and as of the last Friday he was still 11th on the list so we had to pull the plug on the tournament. In fact he when backwards on the waiting list. A month before the tournament has was 12th, then 2 weeks before he was 8th then 11th. WTF?????

Yes that's what I'm talking about when I say light tackle. Flippin sticks and water that isn't 200 feet deep. I will check out the Tigerfish. The queen of hearts out of half moon bay also looked good.

Any suggestions on where to go and what boat to charter to go light tackle rock fishing somewhere around the bay area? My son and father-in-law are looking to get out in the next few weeks.

1/0 Gama Siwash, slide on it the the hook then crimpe close. As a keeper I take a hole punch and punch a bunch from a coffee can lid. Works great.

If I use a trailer, I thread that on first then the hook.

I use a 2/0 siwash hook and to keep them on the main hook I use a hole punch on a coffee can lid. I first put the trailer hook on then crimp it closed and then add one of the little circles from the hole punch.

We went to Berryessa yesterday, it started slow with only a couple of small fish so we headed up Putah Creek and found several fish on beds. We sight fished the rest of the day and Kyle caught one that went 5.5 lbs. We caught 12 keepers and our 5 biggest weighed around 13-14 lbs.
