for your first go round in a pro/am style tournament like the strens you can't go wrong staying at the host hotel, that what i did my first year and it helped me a ton. lots of people fishing the tournament stay there which helps out a lot plus they are usually pretty centrally located.

i use 87 with the fuel additive from mercury and have never had any problems. this is also what my mercury mechanic recommended i do.

i wear Eye Surrender. They have just come out with a new lense that is better than the previous ones if you can imagine that. I like the fact that the lenses are first class and thats what you pay for, not the frames. I only wear my "fishing glasses" when i'm fishing and have other glasses...

i know that i am biased because i own one but i love basscats and they are great boats for a great price. i have a 2001 19ft. pantera classic with a 200 merc but a new one will run in that price range i think. i wouldn't overlook it.

if you stick to confidence baits, you will always have what you need. also make sure to bring baits that can do more than one thing, ie senkos (t-rig with weight or weightless), jigs flipping or deep. see what i'm saying? if you just talk with your pro the day before you won't have any problems. geo...
