Thanks guys, I REALLY appreciate it!
I believe we will be staying right by Braito's Buckingham Pt Marina. Is that a place where I can get inspected?

Hi Guys, Been a long time since I have been on these boards. Next week 6/15-6/21 I am taking my 14yr old son up to Clear Lake as a graduation present. I have never been to Clear Lake. Would anyone be willing to just give me some generalities of what we can expect, fishing wise. I know the WON is thi...

I had the same motor and same issue. Turned out that I had water in the lower unit. I have had that happen a couple of times to my TM. Had it repaired twice. Knock on wood, this last time seems to have gotten the job done.

One last DVL inspection question
Do the seats have to be free of moisture as well. I know I have had several mornings where I have developed condensation on the boat while waiting in line for a lake to open. Just curious if, when I wipe it down, if I were to miss a spot on the seat, or a window, would that get me turned away?

Our club is looking at having a tournament there in a couple of weeks. We are a small club with even boaters and non boaters. none of us has fished it since they started getting strict on the inspections but we want to give it a shot. Don't call it the Angler of the Year award then. Call the winner "BASS Champion" or something to that affect. Angler of the Year should be based on the total season, not two post season tournaments.

Re: Best bass lake in San Diego right now?
That research is a bit deceiving. Otay is a lot bigger than Murray. At Otay, tules ring the lake and there are openings in the tules to fish. Murray has much more walkable shoreline. If you are fishing from shore, Murray is a better option than Otay.

Get some SMALL zip ties. You can tighten them down where the rubber band is and that skirt will never fall off. I have done this with several spinnerbaits and they work great.

They added an extra berth for the WBA didn't they? If that is correct I really can't see the big deal. I don't see it anyway. She di...

Last summer I ended up with a crankbait buried in my lower lip. It didn't hurt but I pulled like hell trying to get that thing out with pliers and it wouldn't budge. I had my 8yr old son do the line trick and it popped right out. I won't hesitate to use the line next time first off.

Thanks Buddy, that's what I was looking for. I was watching Bassmasters this morning and heard them call Olds Hickory "Very Small" by BASS standards at 22,000 acres. While that may be small by their standards, it's huge by mine. DVL is the biggest lake I have been on so far.

Personally, I am glad to see she went out on her own and not on the end of a stringer waitiing to be certified. A fish that big, after being caught as many times as she had and providing so much entertainment for so many bass fishermen, deserved to die on her own.

I was at a seminar recently put on by Don Iovino. He swears that floro is the biggest scam going, says he uses mono for everything. That really kind of surprised me seeing as how he does so much finesse fishing. I don't agree with him though. I think floro definately has a place.
