Comparisons between Dobyns & Powell 7’6” casting rods

I have a question for those of you with experience fishing current Champion XP 763/764C’s and current gen Powell Endurance 764/765C’s. Thinking of going a different direction than the KD744 I have. Snice I already have a DX744 I was thinking of selling the KD744 (or gifting it to my little brother) ...

Deck extension for a Ranger 365V

Does anyone know if Ranger makes a factory deck extension for a ‘97 365V with a dual console? And how much one would run to get one shipped to NorCal (Shasta Co.)? I’d rather buy something designed for it than have to make something up. But will make one if I have to. Picking up the boat tomorrow fo...

Any Bass boats in the 6k range for sale?

I can’t delete the other post I made so I guess I have to post another one. Let’s try this again. Looking for a boat in the 5-6k range. 18’-19’-ish. With a 150-200 or so outboard. Hull has to be in good shape as well as transom. Decent seats and carpet preferred. Early to mid 90’s preferred if not l...

Wood and fiberglass transoms on bass boats

Okay so i guarantee this has been asked before on here but i dont know where it belongs on here as far as the classification. But with that being said does anyone know for certain what year Ranger went from fiberglass encased wood transoms to strictly fiberglass composite transoms? ive researched an...

Any used bass boats for sale in the 4K range?

Selling my Stratos 273 tomorrow and wanting something a little bigger and faster at some point down the road. Preferably with at least a 150-175, NON-wood transom, and right around 18’ or so. Doesn’t have to be in pristine condition but decent carpet and solid seats would be preferable. Boat cannot ...

Re: Punker / ABT Dirty Donkey...

I'm no expert on throwing them by any means, but i've used both the 6.5" wood punker, and the 6.5" Dirty Donkey. Let me just say this, both lures deserve a spot in your tackle box. Some would say that the Punker is more of a 'stealthy' bait for perhaps more 'calmer' conditions on the lake....

i had looked at the max3D 764 but i just don't do well with a 7.5' rod for how short i am lol. Even 7'4" is pushing it. I also looked at the Max3D 734 and that seemed like a good choice also. I've never had a real high end Dobyns though so it is pretty tempting to give one a shot haha.

Re: Jig Colors For Folsom

I'd assume Folsom would have similar craw colors to the craws in Shasta. I would say a classic cinnamon brown with purple flake/strand would work good. That's one of the hot colors a lot of the time out here on shasta. Also, a Green pumpkin with purple and copper flake/strand would probably be kille...

Re: Dobyns 744 vs 735 vs others

the heaviest power rod you'd likely wanna use for a weightless senko would probably be a 4 power or a Heavy power. id imagine it would be difficult to cast a weightless senko very easily with a 5 power or mag heavy. with such a sturdy backbone. So for a weightless senkos as well as light to medium t...

Anyone have any 6.5" Wood punkers they wanna sell or get rid of? lost mine on a power line a long time ago and have had to settle for the same sized ABT Donkey for a few years now. But want a wood punker back in my arsenal too. Let me know. Thanks

No good at Shasta either for me yesterday. Can't say i really gave it a fair shot though.
