True story. Anyone who's fished Castaic when the north wind is blowing understands that the problem is the launch ramp. It faces north and has nothing to slow down the rollers.
I've seen complete disasters with tournament boats trying to get off the water in 4 foot waves.

It's all personal preference. I too am right handed, and reel everything with my left hand. I never understood why people work a spinning reel with one hand, and a bait caster with the other. Like you said, I want the rod in my dominant hand, and don't want to have to switch hands after casting. But...

Can't beat Cabelas Guide wear for the price. Number one rule on rain gear is don't go cheap. Simms is great, but CGW has kept me dry in huge rains that lasted all day.
All the rest I've ever worn eventually let water in, and that's the end of any fun for that day!
