I didn't even check, a recent Matt Allen video says it's in the low 40's. I figured it might have warmed a little as the last few days were sunny and warmer.

Re: Clear lake Shad die off ?
Fished there yesterday birds were gobbling shad in Jago & Konocti bays and at Monitor island, some floating shad here and there too. I suspect it is happening now.

Re: Clear Lake Road updates....
I fished the north end today and it was a little hazy in the morning, but clear by noon. Didn't see any smoke plumes from the Clayton fire at all. There was a small fire on the west side of the lake, buy was put down quickly.

Re: Clearlake Which Side?
Fished there Wednesday, launched out of Redbud about 7:30am in the south. Big algae bloom compared to our trip 2weeks ago. The further north you go, the better water you will find. The areas up around Buckingham were relatively clean compared to say Jago bay. Couldn't tell you about the north (west ...

Re: Clear Lake this week 7/20/2016
Fished out of Redbud Wednesday July 20th, and had a great day! Caught fish everywhere we stopped. Big schools of baitfish all over the place. Senkos jigs and sweet beavers did the job. Did better off rocks than tules, but caught fish off both. Grandson even caught his PB! :D I always look forward to...

RMANZO, Unfortunately I believe now and into the future, the Calif DFG is going to be less concerned with sportsmen and their wants and more concerned with endangered species like the delta smelt. Witness the recent changes on the DFG/W commission written about recently in this forum. http://www.wes...

H.R. 2898 passed the house with overwhelming republican support and overwhelming democrat opposition. http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2015/roll447.xml The Senate bill (S1894) is sponsored by Diane Feinstein and co-sponsored by Barbara Boxer, and it seeks to provide additional protection for the delta sme...

Favorite bait for up-sizing your bass?
The last few weeks I have had a blast on the delta catching a lot of fish, it has really been fun. The last couple trips though, I have tried using different baits/lures to catch bigger bass. I have used a jig lately in an attempt to catch bigger bass, and it seemed to work. I noticed I caught fewer...

Re: Clear Lake this week...4/18/2015
Fished out of Redbud today. Stopped in to Clearlake Bait & Tackle to get my sticker, Jimmy said we would do ok with senkos and drop shots, but they were small. We fished senkos all day, must have caught 40 bass, only one small (not even 2lbs) keeper. Other boats were saying the same thing. Kept ...

Re: Elite 5HDI not loading software
Hi Ken, Just wanted to check in to let you know I was able to get the 4.0 update installed on my Elite 5 HDI. The smallest micro SD card I could find was an 8gb card and it worked just fine. I inserted the lake insight pro card, but haven't had it on the lake yet, so I haven't noticed any difference...

Re: Elite 5HDI not loading software
I just received my lake insight pro chip along with a trial of insight genesis. I am eager to use it on my Elite 5 HDI. Some questions, Do I need to install the Elite 3.6 update before I install the new 4.0 update, or can I update the 4.0 directly? If so, in the instructions for the Elite 3.6 update...

Pyramid lake water level
With all the talk of drought, pics of Lake Mead, Shasta et al, on a recent trip to So. Cal. I was surprised to see Pyramid Lake totally FULL, higher than I have ever seen it . What is up with that?

Thanks Ken,
Embarrassingly simple... for some reason, I didn't want to mess with the "MOB buttons". I went back and read the instructions again, sheesh!
Thanks again.

Changing the scale/zoom in or out Elite 5HDI
Just installed the Elite5HDI a couple weeks ago and was wondering if you could zoom in or out, or change the scale of the chart in chart mode. I have looked around and haven't seen any information that this feature is available, perhaps it is available in advanced mode?

Re: Riverfront Regional park fishing (windsor CA)
We usually fish the south and west sides of the lake. There is a finger that goes into the lake from the north side, the east side of that finger is shallow and weedy, deeper on the west end of the finger. I saw a guy get a 3lb bass on a live night crawler on the west side of the finger. I've always...

My best luck came on carolina rigged grubs in crawdad colors, or senkos. Are you in a boat or fishing from shore?

Re: Riverfront Regional park fishing (windsor CA)
The lake to the west is Lake Raphine, and it is fishable, known more for trout, but I'm sure there are bass there. Spring lake is the go-to lake over Raphine though. If you are fishing from shore, there is plenty of access, bring mosquito repellent! Most boats are small kayak/tube floaters, but like...
