Looking for a Cat in the 50-65k range. Lynx, Cougar/Puma, the hull I want the most is the Eyra, but they're pretty hard to find out west.

If you’re on Facebook, the page is “Grumpy Ole Men Tulloch Night Series” They are a blast to fish but I would be hesitant to try and fish that tourney out of a kayak, the shotgun blast off was wild, and if there is a speed limit at night, it isn’t enforced, or followed (I fished a few of them last y...

I love the Owner baitkeeper, their Jungle Flipping hook is the best on the market in my opinion. That keeper doesn’t break and keeps the bait right where it needs to be.

Being in the same position as you (looking at competing in Pro-Ams within the next couple years), I would absolutely push to get the biggest boat you can afford. These aren’t Federation tourneys on Tulloch or Pedro, you’ll be fishing CL, Delta, Mead, Columbia River, all can get 4+ on windy days. Whe...

I would definitely hit up some local trout guides and ask about the trout and Kokanee habits. Learning when they spawn and what size the fingerlings are when they enter the lake can really help narrow down bait selection.

I’m sure a lot of people that signed up for the MLF on Shasta are just as upset as I am. Who exactly made the decision to pull the permit? No logic to be found. I can’t for the life of me see why the forest service should have any say on which tournaments to allow and which ones to pull. Too much government and it’s not going to change anytime soon. Sad.

Haven’t visited the Westernbass forums as much in the past few months, too busy fishing! I was blessed to catch a 10-11 and a 10-3 in 3 casts last week. It wasn’t the first time I’ve had 2 for 20lbs but it is the first time I’ve done it with back to back double digits!

Sometimes a Senko can really give you an idea of what the fish are doing. If you ever find yourself struggling throw a 5 or 6 inch senko on a tule point, catch a couple and then maybe adjust presentation or area looking for bigger ones.

Any color works as long as its green pumpkin! I throw lighter weights because the big ones will hold on to a 3/4oz a lot longer than they will a 2oz weight. And try to be sneaky. I would argue that any warm enough lake with Kokanee can have a DD spotted bass, I recommend picking one and learning it. I've seen more DD's on my home lake than at Bullards because I know what they want and where they are instead of trying to learn a new lake far from home.
