I use a DC 705CB glass. I also have a
Champ 734C but prefer the glass rod. I use it for all my topwaters. Thanks Gary for making great rods!

Re: Lake Picachos Info?
I haven't been to Picachos but I have been to El Salto a few times. They are very similar I think. Unless you have a certain way you like to fish just listen to your guide. I call before I go and ask whats working best then stock up. I've been with Anglers Inn. They say they have a fully stocked tac...
Re: Shasta
I've been to Sugerloaf Cottages a few times. Had a good experience every time. And they have a ramp right there.

HDS live map question
I recently upgraded to the HDS live units. A 9'' and 7''. All the ads say they are embedded with the cmaps and will show contour lines. So far I've used then on lakes Kaweah, Don Pedro and Melones. They all show only one or two contour lines. Am I doing something wrong? Having the maps already embed...

I'm headed to lake Shasta in May. Does anyone have a recommendation for a fishing guide for bass? Seems like all i see on internet are trout or salmon guides.

Re: casting rod for senkos
Thanks guys for the replies. And Gary, I'm a big fan of yours and your rods. I currently use a 703sf xp for my senkos. weightless 8# flouro. I fish mainly south valley lakes. Pine Flat, Millerton, Kaweah. I just want to get better with a baitcaster and improve my accuracy. I also have a 734 that I u...

casting rod for senkos
I want to start using a casting rod for Senkos instead of a spinning rod. Does anyone have any advice on rod choice? Med., Med/Hvy, Length ect. Also line choice. Probably $150-$250 price range. I'm partial to Dobyns rods but willing to try other brands. Thanks

Buying a new fishfinder
I'm wanting to buy some new units for my boat. Possibly a lowrance HDS-12 and 7 Gen3's. I have NO experience with electronics. My question is, should I go to a shop and have them installed by a pro, or is it something I could do on my own? There is a Bass Pro Shops a few hours from my house. Are the...
