Lake McClure

I am going to head up to McClure for the first time this year (about 2 hours away) and was wondering where the best action is? We would just like get on some numbers and I wasn't sure where to begin (cottonwood, mcclure point, horeshoe, etc.) I thought their might be a reaction bite/topwater early a...

You also have to consider line limpness. If it is too ropey I will not want to use it on my spinning gear even if it has a low stretch. Some of the hybrids seem that way. Trial by error and personal opinion will be your best bet. I am using McCoy for spinning gear and hybrid for casting. I may try M...

I make my own stink bait everyday, so I know those are good (everyone likes their own brand).

I do know that I have had to clean my Bang nozzle after sitting for a while. It still has good pressure and smells fishy so I assume its good.

Instead of using a cranking rod, I bet you could try a cheap flipping stick. A frog rod would be best, but I would try the flippin stick before a cranking rod.

I see in my near future that I may catch my personal best at Clear Lake during my Spring Break (next week). I just hope the wind isn't too strong (I know to excpect some, but hopefully not extreme). Besides, most fish that I catch there have the chance of being far better than any of my local ones. ...

Clear lake weather (rain/wind)

I am going to spend Spring break with my Dad at Clear lake next week (Mon thru Thurs) and I see a small (for now) storm coming. How will this affect the wind and bite?

It looks like air temps will be 37 in am and 61 in pm.

Any suggestions (stay North or go South)

Thanks,

I try to avoid anything to do with a banjo in it ever since I saw the movie Deliverance.

Now if Dan Hernandez uses them on his Sport Fishing show, I would buy them up.

But all kidding aside they almost look like a small fluke and we know flukes catch a lot of fish.

I agree with Kap just you reel in fast when you get a bite instead of a big swinging hook set (like regular jigs). More like what works well for dropshotting. I also like to work the worm back really slow sometimes, like you are trying to sneak it back to the boat with out any fish seeing it (but th...

It seems just as soon as some lake is going to "turn on" the weather changes and puts things on hold. I bet as May comes in the weather will be a little more consistent and so will the bite.
