My family was from San Francisco and we used to vacation at Clearlake in the late 50's,early 60's. Take the drive up through Calistoga and through the winding road to the lake. We always stayed at the same resort in the "highlands". Austins beach had miniture golf and a roller skating rink...

Lots of folks poke fun at Clearlake; Be sure to lock your truck, lock your rod lockers, lock your room where you are staying etc. but you know it really is a shame whats happened there in the last decade.

I totally agree...ESPN's coverage sucked!! Way too much of the guys sitting at their outdoor set complaining about the wind in their face and too little actual fishing coverage. And the weigh-in seemed to last about one minute. Great for Skeet but poor for the viewer.

Went BPS for the first time just the other day. Without getting into where you should shop or who you should support I will tell you this; It smoked Cabella's in Reno in every aspect. Heck BPS even had some things on sale!!!

I just discovered the problem. I had been logging in under the "log in to check your messages" button when I log in. Apparently, you have to use the "Log In" button to be able to edit an add. It makes a difference. Now I know. Thanks again for your help.

First off, I'm not a "government guy" by any means but this didn't happen over night. The resort folks have known for a very long time that this was coming. I had a mobile home at a resort there in the early seventies and it was talked about even then; when leases might run out.

I was there a few weeks back and it was VERY low. Shore folks couldn't fish in the area near the launch due to lake level. I think recently the owners said without huge rainfall it would remain that way.

I've been seeing more guys using a newer style transome saver that blocks up underneath outboards as compared to the more typical type that goes from lower unit to boat trailer. Any comments regarding the newer type? Seems to me they don't really gain any support from anything....thanks

On tournament day...blast off, put your boat back on the trailer and go to Pardee. Fish the "wrong side" of the buoy line and come back with plenty fishes in time for weigh-in. Any resemblance between this suggestion and past occurences is purely coincidental.

I don't have any specific knowledge to back up my thoughts. I just don't think those in charge care much about the fishing, recreational use on Folsom. I'll bet a friendly dime, even with snowpack, Folsom isn't allowed to fill this year.

Might be due to spillway construction but alot of that will be on the West side of the dam. I think they have the lake right where they want it; and where they'd like to keep it if they could.
