Lake Comanche - what are they chewing?
Fellow Anglers - I'm a regular and fairly experienced bass angler on the delta but I will be taking my Ranger up to Lake Comanche the weekend of June 24th and it has been 20 years since I've been there! I will be staying with friends who live at the lake and want to learn how to catch 'em (bass prim...

* SOLD * Hydrilla Gear's Gen2 tilt brackets for Power Pole Blades
Price for 2: $299 These came with my 2020 Ranger package but I never really needed to drop my Power Poles to get my boat in the garage so I've removed them and I'm putting them up for sale. They are built extremely well and they do work GREAT! You can release the pin on either end to tilt your poles...

The perfect Punch Hook? Still searching for one!
I do a lot of punching and I've tried nearly every punch hook on the market. IMHO, every single one of them has at least 1 flaw. I'd love to hear a recommendation for the PERFECT punch hook if I've missed something. Note that my must requirements are a heavy straight shank that can be snelled with a...

Nacimiento help for this weekend - non tournament
I'm an avid power fisherman on the delta but the wife and I will be joining a couple who have a home on Lake Nacimiento (they are not fisherpersons). Any experience wrapping or painting Talons?
I have a pair of 12' silver talons and I would like to customize them by either painting or wrapping. My concern with a wrap is how much abuse the lower case takes on turns. I have mine set so that while running on plane, they clear the water by a few inches BUT when turning, they do dig in and grab...

Re: Minn Kota Ultrex??
There's a lot to like about the Ultrex but as a mat/punch fisherman, I'd never have one on my boat. I've fished up front on two different boats that had the Ultrex and for me, the noise of the power assisted steering was beyond acceptable. Won't matter for most fisherman and most situations but it s...

It would never work in a Mid level tourney. Not going to happen..... Yes, I know it's not exactly the same, ...

Re: How will MLF develop down stream ?
If MLF's new definition of sports bass fishing is as much or more popular than the old "best 5 to the scales", you can bet that MANY small to mid-size groups will follow. Will it be more popular? I'm sure it will be for a TV viewing audience. For the masses of fishermen, I'm not so sure. W...

I've recently returned to the Gammie Heavy Flippin' hook as my punch hook of choice but that darn shrink wrap they put on the shank to cover the weld of the bait keeper fails EVERY TIME. Re: The Sanshouo Rig with Bobby Barrack | Punch Hook Sale VIDEO
Nice commercial and someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe this Mustad hook has a completely welded eye? I know it has a vinyl coating around the eye but unless it is fully welded, the vinyl coating will eventually give way and then your braid will be cut by the incomplete weld.

Re: Delta giants
This is nature adapting to change. Some of the changes are natural and some are man-made. The coastal food sources for sea-lions are on a steep decline. They've discovered an easy and abundant food source on in-land Delta waters. Add that there are no predators. While there are still many places for...

Will bass hang on "humps" in the Delta?
I've always wondered... with so many seals throughout the delta, will bass hang out on humps like they would in a lake? The experts are always saying the bass go deep in the summer and winter but my _guess_ is that they burrow up under shelves and other hideouts away from predators (e.g. seals). The...

Re: SoCal water agency could vote soon on whether to bankroll Delta tunnels
From the SacB article... "They said the tunneling system would also prevent further harm to the Delta’s declining fish populations. Currently, the pumps at the southern end of the Delta are so powerful, they can reverse the natural river flows and draw the fish toward predators and the pumps. B...
