Re: Casitas Blue stoned 7/15
Been cabled back in there for six years and the first three years were great, very fun re-learning the lake again. Very cool catching a lot of 20 pound bags and a lot of off shore stuff. Now becoming disillusioned by it all, no water left, much poorer fishing, no spots to really run off too. Fishes ...

Totally agree. Line shy myth is a figment of SoCal imagination. Get bit on equal level on 17lb line with a jig in crystal clear Casitas, Pyramid or Castaic as a guy drop shottin 4 pound line. Also alot less heartbreak after setting the hook. Another myth in my opinion is the whole "downsizing&...

Loosen the height adjustment knob, turn head while motor is stowed. Control cables going to pedal should face same direction as prop.

Re: Rod handle repair?
U40 Cork Seal, clean them all, then seal them all. Protects the cork, cleans much easier. Only drawback is it slightly darkens the cork. Do them when they're new and they last much longer, but even when they're old, just clean em then seal em!

Re: Rod handle repair?
Couple ways, wine corks, grated with fine cheese grater mixed with outdoor wood gkue. Smear it all on, let it dry and sand with 200 grit sandpaper, then seal it. Or, Homec Depot, Wood/Cork filler in a tube. Same idea, put it on thick, let it dry, sand it and seal it.

Re: Whats the best Prop size for Evinrude 225 ficht?? Any suggestions?
I'm not familiar with Cobra/Viper Hull, but my 20 ft Stratos with 225 Ficht HO turned a 26 Raker without a problem. Better all around prop though was a 27 Renegade four blade.

Re: Castaic quagga Mussel meeting
Forgive my ignorance, but it sounds like the best case scenario as far as fisherman are concerned would be for Castaic to be infested as soon as possible?? And, if that is the case, what would stop anyone from bringing a tennis shoe full of Quagas dredged up from Piru and dumping them in Castaic??

Go at least 1/4 of the way thru with the drill in reverse, trust me you'll be good. Finish the top of the holes with a stone Chamfer bit and you're good to go

Re: Quagga Mussels in Pyramid
Best thing that could happen to us is that all our lakes would be infested. That way we could all fish wherever we want. They'll raise the gate fees of course to raise more revenue, but at least we will have the lakes back. That's assuming we have any water by then
