Re: State Releases Delta Report

We are constantly told that we are in a drought, water is scarce etc etc Doesn’t the Middle East use weather modification for precipitation? Didn’t want to go there but, people need to start looking up, them ain’t no clouds in the sky…….if they can create a drought, they sure can create rain or allo...

Re: WWBT Sold To New Owners

I know it’s about the fishing, it is about the fishing at the end of the day. The wwbt format, their sponsors, the contingencies, the payouts, it’s what we all want. But I think a lot of us want to be associated with a legend. The stories of Gary dobyns, the rods, the respect. Dobyns owns the west, ...

Making soft plastics

I know that there are many sites that could point me in the right direction but I trust the input from the westernbass anglers. I have never made my own soft plastics but I am looking to learn. I have zero experience in making any form of tackle besides home modifications. Would anybody mind posting...

Re: 2018 Bassmaster Opens Schedule | Two Divisions and a Championship

I just hope that BASS considers a path that is closer to possible rather than impossible for the west and other regions. I applaud FLW, and am hopeful for the WWBT to become wildly successful. The best path into the elites resembles ball sports. You have to climb the ranks through school and scholar...

Re: 2018 Bassmaster Opens Schedule | Two Divisions and a Championship

On the bassmaster website, the Facebook comments on this topic are mainly negative. Areas being left out, it being a rich mans sport. I agree 110%. I'd really love to hear an in depth explanation of why BASS leaves the west out year after year as well as other regions. (Yes, our cities won't put up ...

Re: Endagered Species Act Signs Off on Delta Tunnels

I fished Taylor, sandmound and franks. Inside the seawall is where I saw numerous floaters pushed into the pockets. Fish were biting though, nothing big but a ton or 2 and 3lbers. Not much boat traffic either.

Long live the delta!

Re: Endagered Species Act Signs Off on Delta Tunnels

Fished the delta today. This threat that these tunnels bring have definitely opened my eyes. There is a produce stand on nearly every corner, private farms everywhere. Every produce stand was packed with people buying local, supporting each other everyday. Not that I've never noticed, i feel differe...

Re: Endagered Species Act Signs Off on Delta Tunnels

I realize people need water, all people deserve water and in no way am I asking these questions looking to depriving people of water. My motivation, to be honest, is mainly for my own personal needs. I need fishing. Is there a flyer or some type of pamphlet that I can copy, print and hand out? Stapl...

Re: Endagered Species Act Signs Off on Delta Tunnels

Has B.A.S.S, FLW, WWBT, WON, SAF etc etc etc spoken out against this?
Is the bass fishing/fresh water fishing community pushing hard against this?
I ask because I don't know. I'm posting here so I do know.

Re: Endagered Species Act Signs Off on Delta Tunnels

What can people do? I think most on here sign the petitions, vote and want to find solution. If the delta turns to salt, I can only imagine the fishing pressure clear lake, berryessa etc etc etc will get. Brutal fishing pressure! All the rats are gonna need to find something to eat! Is there anythin...

Re: Jerry's Gas Tax !......

I don't live on the delta, but I love the delta. It has offered me the opportunity to get out of the rat race, forget about money, my stresses and problems. I've worked my youth away chasing money but the couple of weekends a month that I fish the delta I'm not chasing money anymore, I'm chasing fis...

Re: Jerry's Gas Tax !......

I understand that California is the greatest state in the union, it is, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else on earth. And I'm sure that the tunnels will do a lot of great things for many people but what about those little green fish that I love so dearly? I'm not on team jerry, team trump, team ...

Re: Jerry's Gas Tax !......

The whole water situation sounds hopeless. But I'll continue to vote, sign petitions, conserve and respect our waters. I guess all we can do is be grateful for what we have and fish hard. (Someone needs to get jerry on a 30lb day, he'd probably drop this whole tunnel thing, buy a bass boat and flipp...

Re: Jerry's Gas Tax !......

Seems as though there are some knowledgeable people posting on this topic and could possibly provide an answer. Why aren't any new resevoirs being planned or built in California? For the price of those tunnels, I would think the state could purchase land and build at least a few more. I don't hear t...
