As a pure trout fisherman for 30 years, I solely used spinning reels. Using “lefty” baitcasters made the learning curve less steep! Didn’t realize companies omitted “L” when introducing new models…

5th street and oaks are your best bet! Parking lot on 5th was full Saturday by 10, but you can park in the north dirt lot next to the main parking lot.

5th street is fine. Launched a ski boat Sunday. 10-15 boat trailers in parking lot. The mats/weeds were surprisingly gone from a month ago. (Which likely stretched out a mile East)

Blew up a Ficht. Count your blessings it’s still running! Although the VRO pump is quite convenient, many old school enthusiasts disengage the pump and premix. At least, it’s burning rich! The opposite would be NO Bueno!

Honestly don’t know... The county is unpredictable. Lucerne shut down at 1.5 feet. However, the county shut down Keeling at 3 feet. The lake dropped from .5 to .1 Rumsey in 1 week. Aurora RV park is charging $11 to launch in Nice. Meanwhile, the county closed Keeling Saturday due to a drop off at the end of the ramp.

Have been smashing Trinity for the last month! Get out at first light as the wind often comes up by 10/11am. It’s one of the best fisheries on the West Coast. The amount of wildlife and pure beauty is stunning!

Been having a blast with the Phenix feather M 6’9” 6-12 lbs this year with small poppers. Last year used M colts and fury’s and found they were a tad heavier after 4-5 hours of AM topwater. Got rid of my expride’s due to subpar warranty. Can’t go wrong with Dobyn’s warranty!

Lucerne Ramp

Went out this AM! The depth inside the launching area is approximately a foot deep. Using a trolling motor to exit while angled w/o being fully extended will only be possible a few more weeks. Was approximately two feet deep last week. Time to pull out your airboats!

Wednesday, the Clear Lake Oaks ramp had a sign warning of low water levels. All ramps are functional but should be used with caution!

Father in law said they just opened it up this weekend. I would launch somewhere else.. the launch ramp was sketch in the Fall when the water was much higher. If you do launch, I’d recommend using your trolling motor unless you are planning on replacing your impeller anyways.... hahaha

NO BUENO, Lucerne Ramp is toast. More importantly, NICE marina pre spawn giants will have to look for hitch in Rodman and other creeks.

Sounds like BBT is experiencing fewer mortalities than other tournaments. What gives? Maybe stricter oversight and better infrastructure? NewJen had 12 times that number and WON was just as high.
