State park rangers can be nice but some are strict. No power in campgrounds. There is sites big enough for boat. I use the ramp there once in awhile as it’s only 3-4 miles away. Senior discount. 12 bucks to launch. Safest place to leave the truck.

There’s fish shallow and deep still. Caught fish Friday outside of Rodman. Water was 51 and dirty in am. But it’s been warm since. Biggest we had Friday was a 6.45 in about 6 foot.

I lived on Bethel Island for years. San Joaquin river was central. Kayaking be aware of tide changes and you can use it to go one direction. Then tide change come back Southern Delta warms first. Smallies in north.

Sure we have high taxes. Fuel tax has been higher than rest of the country because of Governor Arnold
We also have the best weather and year round fishing opportunities.

Berryessa and other lakes a twin tail grub gets more bites.

Re: Netting Etiquette.... the big question..
In a pro am or tournament that draws co anglers you should discuss netting before you get a fish on.
I remember a tournament where Dee had a am bust off a 10 pounder stabbing at it. I learned from netting Stripers. Hold the net under water hold it still and they don’t spook. Swim them in.

Re: WWN Help
Never scoop at a fish. Have the net out. Have net man hold net under water. Swim the fish into the net. Long as net isn’t moving the fish won’t rush. it’s way better than stabbing at a fish.
