Congrats to all that took checks and caught good fish in this SnagProof Open.
Thanks so much for that great write-up, Jody.
I was dying to hear all about it.
I so wish we had one of thesee in NY, as I am stuck here on Long Island, just east of NYC, with the Cal-Delta blues again.

Re: Where do spots spawn , not how deep but where?*NM*
Given the choice, frequently Spotted Bass will spawn usually on secondary points on pea gravel or other hard surfaces, but they can be found spawning just about anywhere in the water if they cannot find ideal choices of bottom composition.
I have even seen them spawn on top of submerged tree stumps.

Re: ++ BlackDog "WeedSlinger" ++[hook rigging?]
Mike [or others],
The Weedslinger I have now has a line tube going through the nose and head, going into the body cavity.
When rigging the G-Lock, do you allow some space between the hook eye and that tube, or is the hook eye snug to the tube ?
These baits look awesome in my hands !!

Been fishing in Florida lots of times. Lots of heavy-stained water there, so soft-plasic colors like junebug, redshad, and black Ribbon-tail worms will often perform the best. Horny Toads could be the ticket, too. Cold fronts will REALLY shut them down, as these are 100% Florida strains down there a...
