Clearlake Fishing Report. 9/19/23

IMG_1514.png As summer is coming to an end and fall is just around the corner, Clearlake is starting to transition with cooler over night temps and slightly cooler water temps. Water temps right now range from the low 70's in the morning to mid to high 70's by afternoon. Water clarity is just perfe...

Re: Shout out to Danny Peluso!

Danny is a great guy. He is an outstanding ambassador of our sport on so many different levels. He was just up here at Clear Lake volunteering his time with the high school fishing team tournament. The guy has a heart of gold and enjoys helping others. I will give him a call and have him check out t...

Re: Lakeport 5th street ramp

Be extra careful launching and loading. The vertical face of the end of the ramp is getting closer and closer to the shoreline every day. I have seen quite a few people hang their trailer axle over the edge and get stuck.

Re: Clearlake Riviera Launch?

You might be thinking of Borenbega launch ramp. I believe it is still closed due to low water level. You can call them to double check

Re: Clear Lake ramps

Red bud is still open and so is county park. I’ve been launching at county park but it is getting sketchy and has a couple weeks at best until they close it. State park is pretty much a no go unless your launching a kayak or a small boat. 5th street at Library park is still operational but I would s...

Clear Lake Report 3/3/20

clear lake lowrance graph.jpg What happened to winter? That's the question we are all asking ourselves as unusually dry and warm weather seems to be the dominant pattern for the whole month of February up here in Northern California. It seems as if spring is determined to come a little early this y...

Clear Lake Fishing Report 1/30/2020

IMG_1101.JPG The Bass are biting pretty good up here at Clear Lake. The A rig is still the deal for both numbers and size for me on both ends of the lake. It seems like we were catching a little bit bigger fish in the deeper water in the south but getting fewer bites, whereas we are doing really we...

Clear Lake Fishing Report 12/31/19

clear lake gishing report.jpg Winter is in full effect up here at Clear Lake. The days are shorter and the water is getting colder. The lake itself is in pretty decent shape though. The rain storms we have received so far have had little breaks in between so the lake level is slowly rising but the ...

IMG_0896.JPG As fall transitions into winter the fishing has been really good up here on the lake this past month. This is the time of year when the big girls start chewing and there has been some giants caught recently with a few anglers breaking their personal best record. The water temps are coo...

Clear Lake Fishing Report 10/31/19

IMG_0947.PNG Had a special celebrity guest client out this past week and let me tell you this guy could fish. The go to lure for me has still been the LV500 in any of the bait fish colors. I have primarily been using the Pearl shad and Ghost minnow colors. The key to being successful with this lure...

Clear Lake Fishing Report 9/29/19

IMG_0887.JPG With the summer coming to an end, fall patterns are begging to emerge up here at Clear Lake and the lake is changing daily. Cooler overnight air temperatures have brought water temps down a bit this week with readings in the high 60's in the morning and low 70's by the afternoon. Anoth...

Clear Lake Fishing Report 8/22/19

IMG_0772.JPG Great summer fishing is still rolling on up here at Clear Lake. The lake is still holding a decent level at 4.65 on the Rumsey gauge. The little bit higher than usual lake level is presenting great fishing opportunities for anglers on both sides of the lake. Water temps are in the mid ...

IMG_0766.JPG Summertime....and the fishing is easy... Ok maybe not easy but pretty darn good right now up here at Clear Lake. I have been hitting the water at safe light and making my first cast right around 5:30 am. Starting off the first hour of the day with topwater in the north end of the lake ...

Clear Lake Report 6/6/2019

IMG_0698.JPG An early summer pattern is finally beginning to emerge up here at Clear Lake. I couldn't hardly believe how much rain we got in the month of May and there was plenty of wind to go with it. The lake level has been holding relatively steady with the Rumsey gauge at 7.39 and water temps h...

Fishing Clear Lake 5/6/19

unnamed.jpg The spawn is on up here at Clear Lake. That huge full moon we had towards the middle of April got the first few waves of fish to move up and begin the spawning process. The lake is currently at the official "full" level of 7.50 on the Rumsey gauge which gives the fish plenty o...

Clear Lake 3/28/19

Enough with the rain already. I am starting to understand how those poor folks that live in Seattle feel. We sure have been slammed with storm after storm and what seems like record rainfall amounts this year. The last couple storms that rolled through were a lot colder coming down from the gulf of ...

Clearlake 3/11/19

0.jpg Things are shaping up for a good early spring bite on Clearlake. We are finally forecasted for a warming trend starting this coming Wednesday with plenty of sunshine and a high of 60* and possibly even up to 70* by Sunday. This should bump the water temps up a bit and improve the bite conside...

Clear Lake 3/3/19

IMG_0547.JPG Fished both ends of the lake recently. Had to truck over and put in at Braitos Marina being that the public ramps are closed. The North end is quite muddy with less than a foot visibility and all the creeks coming into the lake are raging bank to bank with muddy water and debris. Water...
