Trolling battery size??
Hi - Can someone tell me the correct size trolling battery for my Triton TR-18? I keep my boat a couple of hours away and am hoping to pick up a couple on the way up... thanks!

Re: Clear lake?
I was up all weekend and didn't get out much as the wind was blowing very hard as a cold front moved through. An hr or so each morning in the narrows to Rattlesnake and it was a tough bite (echoed by others I spoke with). The local Osprey were catching more than I was! Only one 3 lb today on a crank...

Bear IN Clear Lake
Taken by a friend in July. What kind of rig would you use to land him?

Re: Clear Lake Weather
Seems to me that the discussion above is all pretty much speculation about whether the lack of any bite at Clear Lake means anything about the bass population. Many seem to think this is purely seasonal, something that's certainly true at least in part. But I think everyone can agree about one fact ...

Suggestions for new sonar?
Sounds like it's not worth struggling with my dodgy bow mounted X85 and it's time to upgrade. Any recommendations for a new unit? I don't need a GPS and am a casual fisherman who hasn't really used the sonar much in the past. I don't need the fanciest system but would want one that I won't regret bu...

Re: X85 sonar question
I'm sure the X85 is an antique by now and to be honest I'm not very good at using sonar at all. Any suggestions for an upgrade? I'm a casual angler so don't need the fanciest system but would like something decent. Sounds like it's worth getting something new rather than struggling with a dodgy and ...

X85 sonar question
I have an X85 sonar mounted on the bow of my boat and lately it's been acting strange. When I turn it on it's almost impossible to see the screen as it's very faint. Sometimes this doesn't change, sometimes it seems to warm up or whatever and act normally after some time. Nothing obvious is wrong (l...

Question on engine maintenance
Hi Guys - I have a 2 year old Yamaha 4 stroke on my boat that gets very little use (30 hours since new). I use it year round but keep it at Clear Lake and don't make long runs. It's kept garaged and winters aren't harsh. My question is how often I should be changing the oil (engine and lower end) gi...

Re: clear lake
150 yards from occupied buildings and outside the city limits of Lakeport and Clearlake. See the article below from Terry Knight (who writes some really good stuff)

Where to look for bilge leaks?
Looking for some advice - I have a 1999 Triton TR18 and have noticed that it takes on a noticeable amount of water after a few days in the lake. Nothing enormous, but enough that I suspect that something is leaking that shouldn't be. Any tips on where to start searching and the best way to do so? Th...
