my opinion is falling water during the spawn creates spots. stable or rising water you get lm. 2 of the last 10 gave us lm thus the spot takeover. turkey man is right look deeper +1 A well known fisheries biologists in Florida told me that high water years statistically have the strongest recruitme...

Beautiful fish congrats to Hiroshi! it'd be interesting to know when those Florida's made it over there.

I read somewhere that this fish would set the 16lb line class record if the angler applies for it. Seems like a lot of those crawdad fish in the top 20 would of been on lighter line.

Aside from matte finishes breaking down faster they don't magnify transparents,metallics,etc nearly as well as a high gloss finish.

Every reference photo I've taken of a fish out of the water has a high gloss slime coat :lol:

The Revo is more comfortable and has a lower profile, but the Advantages have a better breaking system for when it gets windy and you decide to cast.

Caught quite a few fish the last few weeks up at Clear Lake on Mavericks new bait that has a beaver-esque back end with paca like claws. It's called something Scrat ....we referred to it as Muskrat Love :lol:

The Dobyns/Powell 766 walks the frog just fine however the tip is a little too fast for roll casting into the pockets or skipping docks. The 765 is probably your best bet for double duty. However if your looking for a flip'n stick and not a pitchin' stick your better off getting an 8'er to put yours...

It's not uncommon to break blades where the wire meets the lead head...especially if your bangin' rocks. If Revenge doesn't come through for you check out Blade Runner's line. Rick ties most of his blades with atleast .050 musky wire.

You have to get the Fluoro Carbon Leader Material. Not Fluoro Carbon Fishing Line. Huge difference!!! I have to agree here. It's not cheap but it's much more durable and isn't meant to be used as a main line. I use the Alberto knot(same as offshore tuna guys) and have hit a few nice ones throwing 5...

hey Larry that was a nice fish you got thursday...you showed me pics of her when we were pulling out at the ramp. I wish I would have taken pics of the fish I told you about it did look more like a spot in color,jaw structure,etc...however I forgot to feel for the rough patch.

right on...that 764 is my favorite all around rod and I've been looking for something a little taller with a similar action that isn't too heavy.

do you have guys using that rod for rippin' chatters/blades,traps,etc...with braid on the delta? or is it too meaty for those baits?

Lake Nasser off the Nile in Egypt with home made through wire constructed swimbaits for 100lb+ predatory Nile Perch and toothy Tiger fish. Fish hard for a week and spend another week seeing the pyramids.

two six hour days with a Dodge Ram given out to big fish every hour...with a sub $300 entry :shock:

The best way for you to save money on tackle is to start making your own. The advantage is you will have everything you need in custom colors,weight,hooks,etc.... You can even get a few friends to split costs.

depends on if your using stock hooks...I throw the 4" tru-t on a 7'6 mh crankin' stick. I've customized a few and added weight and just run a bigger single front hook. I throw that bait on the Powell 764.
