Line is another part of the equation you don't want to cut corners on.
For me I use suffix 832 braid with a 6' leader of 20lb. Tatsu fluorocarbon,
Learn any version of the Albright knot for attaching the leader. I'm still on my first 200 yard spool of tatsu from this January.

FWIW.....It is not "a lure". It is a "rig" or means for attaching a bunch of lures and or attractors.
If you remove all of the "lures" from the "rig", you don't have anything but a fancy looking cooking utensil.

From my personal experience, I would say that even using only 3 baits with hooks that this happens about 30% of the time. I personally haven't had any multiple fish catches on one cast, but its the worst time of year for it right now too. Wait until they really start getting into prespawn mode. Yes,...

try the ponds/lakes. franks, mildred etc. or in the dead end sloughs outside of weedlines in like 8-14'.
think like in sycamore slough on all the rounded levee points made by inside channel swings. Might try drop shotting instead though.
