I believe that you can take an average angler and make him a good angler, and a good angler a better angler by improving the quality of his equipment, but you can't make a good angler a great angler with equipment or time on the water. That comes from inside. JMO

Re: Old Dobyns Rod Warranty?
Warranty hasn't changed. If you break one, take it to a dealer, give them $60 and get a new one or send it in to the Dobyns facility for repair or replacement. Warranty is still the same.

207 boats for a team event  That's actually a low number for Bass Champs. I have fished it on Rayburn with 307 boats. We don't have "rookie" leagues persay, but we do have circuits that's geared more towards the "Future Pro's". Bass Champs has 4 different regions in Texas...

Just so y'all know, I think Gary has slipped off the deep end! He called a Texas buddy of his (Mark Pack, owner of Lake Fork Tackle) and the 2 of them challenged me and a fishing buddy of mine to a grudge match on Lake Fork. I guess he thinks that just because Mark has lived and guided on Fork for a...

Re: flourocarbon line qualities and a braid question?
That is easy. Jason is correct about braid and slack line. Braid being softer (limper) on slack line it will be harder to detect a bite and the more line you have out, the worse the effect is. With fluoro, and even co-poly and mono to a certain extent, they are semi-rigid and you are more likely to ...

That was the case but isn't the case anymore. All rods have been returned for credit. You can still return it to Sheri if you want, but you will get a credit for it until the new rods get here. That is also "as per Gary" as of yesterday. If you need the rod before the new rods get here, yo...

Re: Gary Dobyns will stand by his rods.
If you bought it from a dealer, it is the dealer's responibility to handle the warranty on the rod. With that said, if you can wait until the new models get here, you won't be sorry. Right now it is looking like a couple of months. We know it is an imposition, but Gary will stand behind all rods 100...

Okay, the warranty states a $50.00 no hassle, over the counter warranty at "participating" dealers. They are not required to participate, even though I can't figure why they wouldn't, because when you go to another dealer to get it replaced you are more than likely going to go back to that...

Re: Difference in power between Dobyns 735C and Powell 735C?
733=med hvy, 734=hvy and 735=mag hvy. The 735 is kind of a universal rod it can be used for a pitching and flipping or frogs and spinnerbaits. Ideally a pitching stick should be 7ft and a flipping stick should be 7'6"+. There both good. A medium heavy flippin' stick won't be the same as a medi...
