Re: culmrite

Just did mine about a month ago. Figured for the cost of sending it back it was worth the effort to do it myself. It ended up being a super easy fix. The battery was coated with a red type of silicone sealant, and the rest of the internals were buried in a clear (and harder) sealer. I used a razor t...

Re: Reelex Anniversary Special!

A job well done!! Just got 5 reels back from Dan. Amazing how much of a difference a small investment can make. The condition of the reels ranged from what I would consider average all the way down to...well...horrible. Now (aside from the paint), I can't tell the difference. For those who haven't y...

Fishing Around/Near Pleasant Hill

Im going to be spending a couple of weeks in Pleasant Hill, and will have some of my evenings free. Could someone point me in the direction of some decent bank fishing. I really appreciate it.

Re: IT'S HERE!!! "DA POE MANS SUMMER NITE SERIES... PED

My understanding is that there is going to be a small dam built near the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct crossing that would turn one of the coves into a mini reservoir. It would be filled by pumping existing lake water up into it, the then this water would run through power generation. Depending on where the...

Re: Eastman Help

I will be fishing out of my boat. I fish mostly McClure, Pedro, and Melones, and am guessing Eastman is similar. Since it is my first time there, I was just looking for someone to point me in the right direction...jigs, crankbaits, worms...thats all Im wondering.

Re: $100,000 (1st place) team event comes to Clearlake in Ma

I for one am happy to see a corporation underwrite such a big event and put up the kind of cash and prizes they have for this one Not trying to bash, but it doesnt look like the corporate sponsors are having to put up any cash or prizes. The prize payout is $225,050, and the total entries for 200 t...

Re: Need a rental car.....

I have found that the ONLY way to go is through priceline. I just got done saving over $300 for a weeks long rental of a minivan. They will ask you how much you are willing to pay per day, and then they submit it to the top rental companies to see who wants it. It worked out great for us. Unlike the...

Redington

Would have to say ditto to supermats post. Redington is the way to go. I love mine. They arent going to set you back a bunch of money, and they have a lifetime warranty. I noticed you are in Modesto, if you want to take a look at mine, and are in Turlock sometime, send me a pm.

Re: clearlake resort/The Lake Place info

Great place to stay. Was there last Sept, and had no problems. The rates were reasonable, and the room was sufficient. We even caught our best fish of the weekend one night while walking the dock and flippin the pilings.

You could also check http://www.craigslist.org/boa/ . Mostly bay area, but also some central valley. The easiest way is to just search by manufacturer.

XTools Accuracy?

Was watching the FLW a couple of weeks ago and noticed that KJ was using an XTools grip-n-weigh. He made the comment that according to his scale, he had 17-2. His weight for the day ended up being 17-11. That is quite a difference. I dont have any experience with the product, but couldnt help but no...
