Anyone know what the qualifications are to fish this event? I see it says amateurs only, could use some clarification on that.

Fishing rod found At Clear Lake

I was fishing Clear lake this past weekend and found a pretty pricey fishing rod and reel combo. If the owner can pm and tell me what the combo was and where you lost it on the lake Id be happy to get it back to you.

Re: Question for Dobyns Rod Users

The rod I use to throw cranks in grass is the dobyns 805cbrm. It's got plenty of power to rip the grass off the hooks of rattle traps and other shallow cranks. Not to mention you can launch the bait a mile. If an eight footer is too long for you check out a 705 cb. It will get the job done as well.

I usually throw a 10 to 12in culprit worm with an 11/0 owner and a 3/8oz weight. I do however want to try the uptons custom 19in worm I saw on hookeduptackle.com. If big baits truely catch bigger fish I cant imagine what that beast will catch.

I had the same problem with the newer perfect frogs sinking. The problem is that there was an extra weight attached to the hook on the inside of the frog. If you take the weight off the frog floats perfectly. I belive the reason for the weight is to increase casting distance, it works but it also ma...

I love my Lamiglas XFT 806. It's 8ft and has a very heavy action, heavy enough to horse a nice fish out of heavy cover. It is a telescoping rod but is still very sensitive. I don't think you can go wrong with this rod. Hope this helps.
